USC aces first true test of Lincoln Riley era in commanding win over Stanford
It was to be Lincoln Riley's first substantial test.
a fresh outing to take on a fresh foe in a conference the new USC coach is completely unfamiliar with.
The conditions almost demanded a jolting waking.
So much so that Riley kept a rollout bed available in his workplace for a portion of this past week.
However, when that examination finally took place at Stanford on Saturday, USC was able to relax.
as Stanford was easily defeated 41-28 in a game that wasn't as close as the final score would have suggested.
Not only did USC (2-0, 1-0) perform well on its first Pac-12 test.
for the first time since 2014, Stanford (1-1, 0-1) achieved a road victory there.
Its explosive offensive helped the league and perhaps all of college football get off to a fast start thanks to it.
